The Battery is only 2 years old. I could not use it last years because of medical reasons. Today I tried to start the mower. The battery was dead. I could start the mower by jumpstarting it from my van. Do you think it will take a charge from a batterycharger, or do I need to buy a new battery?

EDIT: I just went out again and tried it one more time, it seemed to have worked “okay” until I started actually mowing the lawn and using the drive feature. It just kept producing grey-ish clouds from that point on. It smells like gasoline and not very sweet. However, when I stopped the lawn mower, there was black liquid on the lawn mower. I presume that was the old oil I had changed out…

i pushed the “cold prime” button 3x as the pic says and depressed the lever on the handle as i am pulling the cord. am i not pulling hard enough? any ideas for a gal who lacks arm strength?

The lawnmower ran before it was parked. When I tried to start it after six months the battery was dead. I got a new battery and the lawnmower engine does not seem to turn over fast enough to start. I discovered the flywheel is magnatized all around the sides of the flywheel. Is this the problem?

Ok, so i’m mowing my lawn last week and i hit a big stick. Long story short, my neighbor had to tip the mower upside down to fix a problem with the blade. It was upside down for a few minutes, and when we turn it right-side-up, the oil and gas kinda poured out the top. So we start it back up, and it runs for about a minute, but spewing white smoke the whole time. Then it just stops running.

We checked the oil, and it was low, so we got more oil and added it. We also added more gas because it was low, and replaced the spark-plug since that was probably filled with oil or gas. But now, will plenty of oil and gas and a new spark plug, it still won’t start.

It’s been like 5 days, and we’ve tried starting it each day, and the first time you pull the cord it almost starts but doesn’t. Then every pull after that it doesn’t come close to starting. Then we try again the next day and the same thing happens.

Please help with any (useful) suggestions. Thanx.

When I start the motor the whole thing vibrates uncontrollably. Is it the blade or something internal because the blade seems tight. Thanks

I got the model number off of it but the serial number had been painted over and was unreadable. I need to find a manual to change out some parts that need replacing.if anyone happens to have one please let me know and maybe we could do some emailing. it is the ranch king 12hp 38″ blade.
