Any ideas on what’s happening with my lawnmower?
I recently bought a used lawnmower - the first times I used it last season were fine. This season, if I use it and then kill it to move something - like our porch swing - the lawnmower will not start when I turn it back on. If I wait a day, it will work again. It has new spark plugs, new air filter, fresh gas,.. It is a snapper self-propelled mower from around 2003, if that matters. Any ideas on what could be happening with it?

about the only thing i could think of for this condition might be that the choke is not working properly..try taking the air breather off and clean the butterfly choke. work it back and forth. it may be that when the motor starts that the choke is not opening properly and so when you shut the mower off when it’s hot the choke is staying closed which may stop the motor from starting. once the motor is cold again the choke is closed so then the motor will start with the choke closed.
that’s an excellent mower. had one for years myself. you may need to buy some carburetor choke cleaner for that butterfly.
good luck to ya. adam/penny

That is probably vapor lock, get a rebuild kit for carb and you will be fine Rob G
