brooster asked:

I went to their site and was unable to find out. I need to remove my blade and I am having difficulty because the nut is very tight. I am not sure wether it is left or right hand thread although the blade turns clockwise I would tend to think it should be left but I have been told that this is not always the case.

Lefty Lucy and Righty Tighty. This applies to your lawn mower blade. Block the blade with a piece of wood and turn nut to left. Spray on some WD-40 and that should help. Place and “X” in white chalk on the bottom of blade so you can put it back on the correct way.I have one too. johnbenn_2000

Did you check for a web sight for John Deer lawnmowers? I am sure if you look you will find it and they probably have their manuals on line if you enter your model number. I have looked up other things like this before with very good luck. JAN

you need 5/8 wrench and rubber mallet and heavy glove.
    1)Secure wrench on bolt.
2)Tap with mallet as you hold blade with gloved hand. Tap left or counter clockwise.
    3)Penetrating oil can help.
4)Repeat 1-3 at least five times or until loosens If does work then go to next.

A two by four through the side or rear opening wedged against blade can help secure the blade if tight. If 1-4 does not work. Use a hammer to tap the wrench until loose.

This does not work then you need an electric impact with a 5/8 impact socket. Warning make sure blade is secure.!!!! Their is a blade removal tool available to secure blade and would use one also in this step. Dale M
