Yeah, your Dad could run out a buy a new one, but maybe it means your family will have to live on Mac and Cheese for the next 2 months. If the mower is really THAT bad, why not suggest to Mom that you buy one of the Scott's push reel mowers for $110 instead ~ this are self propelled, don't use gas, and do a great job of cutting the lawn.
