How can I remove my lawnmower blade?

lawnmower
Joey asked:

I flipped over my lawnmower and I’m trying to get the blade off so I can take the engine out. The problem is that the bolts and screws are rusted together and I cannot take them off? Is there anything I can do?

  1. Dr. Strangelove Says:

Squirt some oil on whatever is visible and let it soak in before trying again.

  2. Who Me? Says:

Spray some WD40 on the nut, let it soak in for a few minutes and try again. The oil will work it’s way in and loosen the rust.

  3. *havin fun in the sun* Says:

try some penetrating oil. spray that on and let soak an hour or so and try again. if that doesn’t work, try heating them up with a torch. if all else fails, get a grinder and grind them off.

take a chisel and make new groves in the screws, just work it slowly and dont break the threads

    use naval jelly

not enough info. Drain fuel out heat up bolt housing spray with WD40. Freeze bolt using freezing spray . these should release a seized bolt
