How large is the fuel tank on my Troy-Bilt lawnmower?

Bruno asked:

I just purchased a Troy-Bilt V560 Model lawnmower, but I have no idea how large the fuel tank is on it. It says no where in the operating manual what size the tank is and I need to know if my 1 gallon gasoline tank will be enough to fill it up or if I need to purchase a larger size.

That model comes with more than one type of engine, so I can’t say with certainty. I *can* say that my Troy-Bilt was a predecessor of this model, and its fuel tank held about 1 gallon (3.8 Liters).

    Hope this helps!

Don’t know for sure. I’d guess 2 gallons.

I don’t know the model…….but generally with walk behind mowers a gas can of 2 gallons is recommended so you you won’t have excess hanging around to get old and gummy. So if you don’t mind dashing off to refill the 1 gal can, it should service your machine. You are right about not finding fuel capacity for walk behinds……they don’t list it, even when you go to the engine specs.

You’ll know quickly if your 1 gallon is too small….after a mowing or too. Hard for us to answer because we don’t know your lawn size.

Now riding mowers have around a 3+ gallon capacity……that was easily found.
