How to turn the blade on riding lawnmower?

The lawnmower is a LX 288 John Deere and I have no idea on how to turn the blade on!! AND WHAT IS A PTO?? Does anybody know how and what?

    The PTO is ‘Power Take Off’ it is used with additional equipment as their source of power. The other sorry.

    PTO = power take off

    That is for an attachment, but usually that button and the blade engage are the same thing. I don’t have that kind of lawn mower, but they are usually about the same.

    turn on the ignition, hold in the clutch/brake and turn or pull hold the PTO knob, and see if that works. Good luck!

    That big tall handle on the opposite side of the mower should be what is used to engage the blade. Some lawn tractors you have to take your foot off the brake /cluth to engage, You’ll have to look to see what direction to put it . It’s usually sideways then forward.
    PS the other 2 gave correct answer for PTO
