I get off my lawnmower, get back on it ,then it won’t start again. Why wont it start?
The fuse is good. The ignition clicks. The engine is hot because I was just mowing with my 22hp riding mower/Troybuilt with Briggs & Stratton engine ,electric key starter. I pulled the idler arm out, made sure the mowing button was turned off and that the transmission was in forward drive. And to top it off, its about to rain.So I Could use some mechanically inclined man to answer this please.

Look under the seat. Most newer mowers have a switch that shuts the engine off if you stand up. Could be the wire may have come off of it in which case plugging it back in could solve the problem. It’s also possible that the switch went bad. Run a jumper wire across both poles of the plug. if it starts - the switch is bad - replace it. unclejoesband

Because you hear a click, I suspect battery terminals need cleaned or battery has gone bad. And it is possible that it did so that suddenly.
Normally if it was the seat safety switch you would not hear the click. Charles C
