If a small amount of oil leaked from the muffler, you got a large amount of oil inside the cylinder. Running it like you did most likely fouled the rings and now you can't get any compression. Tryingt a hotter plug might work, but I suspect the mower is out to lunch.

When you had the mower on a steep angle, oil most likely leaked into your cylinder, it is best after having your mower on any sort of a un-natural angle, to let it sit for about 30min while all the fluids return to there correct places. i would replace the spark plug one more time and after running the mower, the plug turns black again. it means you are pushing oil. a cheap and effective way to fix this problem is to run a little bit hotter spark plug and check the oil regularly! example: Champion RCJ7Y to a Champion RCJ8Y

If the mower has a 2-cycle engine you are not mixing the gas and oil correctly.
