I have a craftsman riding lawnmower and when i went to start it?

I assume the blade is disengaged, but when you touch the handle to check it will shut off.

Is the mower deck engaged or not engaged ?

Seat Switch is bad. disconnect and jump it with a wire and it will run. then just order one on line. should be under $15
