My cousin gave me an old lawnmower she had, she was able to tell me how to start it up but she doesn’t remember how to turn it off. I don’t have the manual for the lawnmower and it’s not available on the internet.

If you don’t see a lever on the handle that says off, look for a rubber type grommet on top of the engine or on the side that you can push in. Older mowers had this switch. It shorts the spark plug and turns it off.

The way the engine is shut off is by grounding the ignition coil. this is usually done either by having the ground wire attached to the throttle or the engine brake. If you don’t have a lever on the handle of the mower that you have to hold while running look for a wire that is attached to the throttle on the carburetor.
