Take it to the shop and have them fix it. They are not made to be on their side! karenhar

Check the oil level and make sure its full, replace the spark plug, it’ll smoke alot at first but shouldnt have caused any permanent damage ohiofirefighter42

ohio is on the right track, but i would clean off your old plug with carb cleaner and run it until the oil burns off. what has happened is oil from the crankcase of the mower has flowed up into the compression chamber or carburetor and is fouling out your spark plug. you can pick up a can of carb cleaner, when you go to the hardware or auto parts store for the new spark plug, for only a few bucks. you might want to take the old plug with you so that you get the correct replacement. before you start the mower, make sure that the oil is full to the correct level. good luck, this should clear it up for you. car dude

They don’t like being on their side.!! Pull the spark plug and pull it over 8-10 times. That will blow the oil out of the engine. Put in a NEW spark plug, make sure that you check the oil level, you have lost some. Start the mower. It will smoke for a few minutes. You haven’t killed it, it will be ok… buzzwaltz

Oil got into the cylender from being on its side , it will clear itself out . will not be harmful to engine , make sure oil level is up there. a lot of engines have a oil level sensor if oil gets too low it will shut off and not start. vincent s
