All lawn mowers have a higher center of gravity than go carts and can tip over mover easily. The wheel base is not as wide as go carts either. I know of two deaths to children caused by go carts flipping over. You can buy a used cart and work on it as you like. They are cheap. Keep safety in mind. Weld one of the gears onto an axle for the rear wheels. Attach the other gear to the crankshaft hub of the engine.
