Is it safe to store my lawnmower gasoline in a closed container in a storage building, (Tennessee summer)?
I live in Tennessee and just put up a 10 X 12 (VENTED), Wood Storage building. I am considering storing my 2 gallon plastic can of lawnmower gas along with the mower. Considering Summer heat in Tennessee, is this safe or is it a Fire Hazard?

I wouldn’t store it for any length of time in a plastic container. The heat could cause the vapors to expand and split it along the seams (that almost happened to me), releasing flammable fumes into the area, where a spark could ignite them. Use a metal can. cdf-rom

Plastic gas can is not the greatest as it will expand and possibly tear apart. As long as you release the pressure buildup it isn’t that dangerous. Yore Nemesis

i have ametal storage shed, with a vent in the back, had it for three yrs and i store gasoline in a one or two gallon container for mine. never had any problems with it.
if shed is not vented in any way be carefull when you open the door if you are a smoker, it might just go ka-boom. tunnellrat123

Yes, be sure to not have a open flame aroung the building, keep the cap off or vent on the tank just barely open, now a good vented shed won’t get so hot, I keep mine in a steel unvented shed, the can if left in there will expand some, I just leave the door cracked and all is fine. 572ci.
