My lawnmower engine stops after starting? how do you get at and clean out carborator?

lawnmower
wondering asked:

I can keep it running by pushing primer bulb but it dies if I do not keep priming. It seems not to be getting fuel. Once it does start running it usually stays running, but very difficult to restart after refueling for example. Toro with Briggs and Stratton engine.

If you can get it running then add some “B-12″ or “seafoam”(from auto store) to clean out jets.If that doesn’t work (may take 2 tanks) you will have to remove and clean carb..Just take air cleaner pull start.off so you can get to the 2 bolts that hold it on(also unhook linkages) then soak and blow out all passages(may have to remove needle valve)

there is probably water in the gas. drain the tank and put in fresh gas.
