Just go to any home improvement store(Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, etc… ) and pick up a new one. Its very very easy to do. No need to worry about any specific model, its all installs the same. You’ll most likely need to take off the cover plate, and rewind it around the spindle. jeff the drunk

try going to Lowe’s or Home Depot. both of these stores carry briggs and stratton lawnmowers, and replacement parts such as gas caps, wheels, filters, and starter cords. if you want to order it online….i would say start with Lowes.com or homedepot.com. jillybean2213

It’s a simple repair that you should be able to do in about 15 to 20 minutes. Follow link to site topcat420

When you go to local lawnmower shop to get the replacement rope, ask they will help, and maybe do it for less than you think. It is a little tricky when you wind up the spring inside the clutch. If it’s breaking within a foot or so from the handle, just move handle down. Remove the 3 or 4 bolts that hold it on and take it with you when you go for part. I had mine done at shop for 20 and that included the rope. Good Luck, I have since hired a gardener !!! ?:)= PaPa Norm
