When I start the motor the whole thing vibrates uncontrollably. Is it the blade or something internal because the blade seems tight. Thanks

Ok, so i’m mowing my lawn last week and i hit a big stick. Long story short, my neighbor had to tip the mower upside down to fix a problem with the blade. It was upside down for a few minutes, and when we turn it right-side-up, the oil and gas kinda poured out the top. So we start it back up, and it runs for about a minute, but spewing white smoke the whole time. Then it just stops running.

We checked the oil, and it was low, so we got more oil and added it. We also added more gas because it was low, and replaced the spark-plug since that was probably filled with oil or gas. But now, will plenty of oil and gas and a new spark plug, it still won’t start.

It’s been like 5 days, and we’ve tried starting it each day, and the first time you pull the cord it almost starts but doesn’t. Then every pull after that it doesn’t come close to starting. Then we try again the next day and the same thing happens.

Please help with any (useful) suggestions. Thanx.

I got the model number off of it but the serial number had been painted over and was unreadable. I need to find a manual to change out some parts that need replacing.if anyone happens to have one please let me know and maybe we could do some emailing. it is the ranch king 12hp 38″ blade. I’ve drained the oil and removed the bolts (of course) and the cover came off the gasket, but wont move more than about 1.5 inches off the blade shaft. I pull really hard but it just stops suddenly like it wasn’t meant to be removed. I can’t see anything that would hold it on there. Help?
It just says Craftsman on the engine cover so I thought they made it, but I noticed it has a Tecumseh carburettor.
Just saw a tiny little logo on the engine itself - it is a Tecumseh

The star piece that holds the blade broke off. I ordered a new mandrel housing shaft to replace it, but it appears that I need the blade to create a counterforce to remove the nut at the top. The nut sits just above the pulley. Any ideas on how I can hold the shaft to create 50 ft. lbs of torque to remove the nut?

And can you harden it to stay sharp and not wear out so fast? I bought a new Toro this spring and the first 1/2″ of the up swept blade ends are already worn off after less than 20 hours of use!
