My landlord rents a garage to a landscaper. He stores two plastic gas cans under our smaller bedroom. Its summer and we just had a baby. IS this safe? The gas dryer is about 20 feet away, and 40 ft away are four water heaters ad boilers. Is it Legal? (NYC)
Thanks

Any ideas about why my lawn mower will not start?

I tried starting my lawn mower today for the first time this season. I couldn’t. It is like it uses up the primer gasoline and then does not get any more… like if it ran out of gasoline. It has good oil, good gasoline, and good sparkplug but that is the extent of my mechanical knowledge.
It does start when I prime it. And I have tone that many many times. The problem is that it does not stay running for long… just a few seconds blowing out white/gray smoke… and then dies.

Standard Craftsman push mower runs for about a minute, then sputters to a stop. I accidentally left gas in it all winter long. I mowed with that gas and it worked fine. Then it ran out of gas, and after I put more in, this problem started. Also afterwards, it won’t start again until at least 10 minutes later. I changed the oil & put in fresh gasoline, that didn’t fix it. Any suggestions?

I keep my red plastic gasoline in the shed with the lawnmower and I’m wondering?

Our house reeked of gas yesterday after my husband mowed the lawn and put the mower back in the garage. We aired out the house and the garage and closed everything up before we went to bed. I woke up in the middle of the night and our bedroom smelled very strongly of gasoline. The garage is on the opposite side of the house. When I opened up the garage door, the smell was overwhelming so we moved the lawnmower to the backyard. There is no gas coming out of it. We checked thoroughly and there is no external leak. Could the gas be leaking inside of the mower? It’s definitely the lawnmower, because after we removed it, the smell was gone.

My riding lawnmower hasn’t been running smoothly. When I checked the oil, I noticed the smell of gasoline. I drained the oil, and found it completely full of gas! What is going on with my mower?
