TexTex454 asked: I got a Craftsman lawnmower powered by a honda motor, its a gas operated push mower, not self propelled.When i begin to mow a lawn it turns off after like 5 minutes, but turns on again without much hesitation. I just changed the oil, and cleaned the air filter with a air compressor. It has gas, and the grass isnt tall enough to make the lawnmower stop. I dont have a manual. How can i fix it? Is it the spark plug or carbureator?

I pulled the ignition starter thing and it turned on for like 2 seconds and blew black smoke out of some hole and now it wont turn on anymore.. The fuel was about half full, i used it about 2 weeks ago, then i filled it up all the way, and still nothing. What can be wrong?
Btw, its a Honda lawnmower.
how do you bum start it?

Mary Brook asked: My lawnmower starts up then cuts out after 30 seconds. The petrol and oil levels are fine and the choke works ok. The choke does not stay on and cut out the engine. Any other reasons why it would cut out and what can I do about it?

the_burbinator2 asked: I was mowing the lawn, and there was a bit of white smoke coming out of the exhaust to the side of the lawnmower, which gradually got thicker and thicker, until it became chokingly thick and the lawnmower died. I added more petrol and oil, but the lawnmower will not start.
It’s a fairly old machine and it’s probably an air filter or something, but I have no idea where it is or how to fix it. Any help, please?
