M A asked: I would like to turn my pull start lawn mower into a push start. It is the type of lawn mower that you walk behind and must push and was wondering if it was possible to make it a push start and how i would go about doing that.

Jim asked: I tried starting my lawn mower today for the first time this season. I couldn’t. It is like it uses up the primer gasoline and then does not get any more… like if it ran out of gasoline. It has good oil, good gasoline, and good sparkplug but that is the extent of my mechanical knowledge.
It does start when I prime it. And I have tone that many many times. The problem is that it does not stay running for long… just a few seconds blowing out white/gray smoke… and then dies.

El asked: I acquired a new lawn mower a couple years ago and it seems to mow alright, except that today when it was about to be used, the user pulled on the drawstring and it didn’t retract. It was like the spring in there was broken. This is a recurring problem. We took it apart and the spring looks to be in working order, but I know nothing about lawnmowers. Does anyone have an answer to fix this? Pictures or a link would be helpful as well. Thank you.
