Hi. My riding lawnmower (Cub Cadet) starts up fine and I can drive it around, but if I engage the blades and mow for a bit the blades will stop. Now, the engine is still running at this point BUT if I turn it off it will not start back up. This is because I have blown a fuse. I replaced it several times with the same results. What the heck is going on? It seems that it’s only when the blades are on that the fuse will blow.

I have a Scott’s lawnmower and the motor surges when running. What’s a possible problem?

I have been busting my butt trying to get my lawnmower running. It will not start. I can pour fuel down into the carb and it will fire for a few seconds and then die. I have checked the plug, fuel, air filter, the kill lever, carb….
I just noticed that the primer bulb has a pretty good size tear in it. Will this cause my mower not to start? Like maybe, it loses prime or something?

Thanks for the help!

a small amount of oil leaked from the muffler. i mowed for a couple of hours with some black smoke and sputtering of the engine. when i brought it out the next weak it would not keep running. i changed the spark plug and after about 1 hr same problem. i took out the spark plug and it was as black as the old one.
you do not mix oil with the gas. runs on straight gas.

Me and my dad got the rear end off, now we can’t figure out how to check the fluid. The tractor keeps slowing down after running a while, but after sitting there cold, it moves again. Until it once again warms up and then it barely moves. Please help if you know how. Thanks.

When mower is running, the drive will stall and mower will not move forward. Can be in any speed gear. Usually mower will stop forward movement on steep grades, indicating drive belt slippage

I don’t know a thing about this stuff but I thought I could take it apart to see how it runs. I plan on running the gas out. Besides the blades, is there anthing else that could hurt the unwary (or ignorant?) It is just a push gas mower.

Standard Craftsman push mower runs for about a minute, then sputters to a stop. I accidentally left gas in it all winter long. I mowed with that gas and it worked fine. Then it ran out of gas, and after I put more in, this problem started. Also afterwards, it won’t start again until at least 10 minutes later. I changed the oil & put in fresh gasoline, that didn’t fix it. Any suggestions?

I;ve checked for worn wires that might be shorting the electricalsystem and removed the wire from the magneto connected to the flywheel braking switch and still no spark. The machine was running fine in September when the weather was warm.
