The Air Filter is clean and the Spark Plug is new. I’ve tried removing the air filter, but it runs the same. Any suggestions?

BS9999 asked:
Maybe i dont understand how spark plug works but from what i gather, spark plugs are the spark that starts the combustion process in the engine…So when i pull the cord on my lawnmower it essentially creates electricty to start that “FIRST” spark by the spark plug starting the combustion…What i dont get is how the Spark Plug continues to “spark” and keep the engine running after my first cord pull?

I have a Lawn-Boy walk-behind power mower, and it’s about eight years old. The first time this happened a week ago, my lawnmower popped and smoked, and my spark plug came off. Now it keeps coming loose. I replaced the spark plug, but keeps doing it. Any help would sure be appreciated! Thank you.

I couldn’t start my lawnmower (first time this spring), and it was suggested to me to clean my spark plug, but I don’t know where to find this on the lawnmower. Does anyone have a picture or something? My lawnmower is gas, needs priming to start, pull, etc.

My lawnmower will run great for a while and then start sputtering and eventually die out. I put in new gas and oil.
