Becky G asked: Last time I used my push mower (about 3 weeks ago) it was fine. Today it won’t start. It has fresh gas, and the sparkplug looks OK, but I am no mechanic. Air filter looked dirty so i cleaned it. It will start if I pour a small amount of gas directly in carb, but then dies in about 15 seconds. Any ideas?
Thank you

J K asked: It’s a fairly old (40 years old), and it’s a Gravely. But that doesn’t matter. I’ve tried turning the gas line open and shut, I’ve tried with the throttle in every position, I’ve tried choke and no choke. The gas filter doesn’t have water in it, there’s gas in the tank, the wire is firmly on the sparkplug. What else could there be? It reluctantly started the other day.

chantal m asked:
gas tank full and not trying to start it on the grass.
i tried the red button a bunch of times … I have only used the lawnmower a few times so i doubt it is the sparkplug … what is “setting” the choke???
