memyselfandeye asked: its a 7-22651 Murray self-propelled older model, put new gas in the tank & checked the oil, but it still wont start. We got it off craigslist for free and they said it worked fine, but they were obviously lying just to get rid of it.. any ideas on if it could be a simple fix?

J K asked: It’s a fairly old (40 years old), and it’s a Gravely. But that doesn’t matter. I’ve tried turning the gas line open and shut, I’ve tried with the throttle in every position, I’ve tried choke and no choke. The gas filter doesn’t have water in it, there’s gas in the tank, the wire is firmly on the sparkplug. What else could there be? It reluctantly started the other day.

Jeeper asked:
When I prime the motor before pulling the cord, the engine will run. After the primed gas runs out, the engine isn’t pulling any gas from the tank, and stops. Also, I get the problem with or without the choke.

Beccalynn asked:
I was thinking about buying a lawnmower blenny. I set my tank up about 4 weeks ago. Does anyone know if cured live rock is enough for it to munch on for food or should i wait until the tank is better established?

East Ender asked:
I had some petrol left for my lawnmower from last year. I filled the tank with fresh petrol (about 8 litre), obviously contaminating whole content of my tank. The lawnmower had difficulty in starting. When it started it ran OK but it started kicking back when I started the engine again. I suspect the trouble is with the oxidized petrol I have in the lawnmower and the tank. I do not want to waste this petrol. Can I use it in my car? Are car engines more tolerant than small petrol engines? May be the problem lies somewhere else and not in the “bad petrol”. Perhaps someone out there knows?

Maggie S asked:
The tank is only 1/4 full. Do I have to siphon it out or can I just add regular gas to the rest of the tank? The lawnmower still turns on, but emits a stinky, slightly smokey cloud.
