Quality Lawnmowers

Put too much oil in it and ran fine for about an hour. Then the engine started to rev very high and alot of white smoke came out the exhaust. Shut off mower and drained oil out to proper levels and the smoking stopped but even the slightest increase of the throttle adjustment makes the lawnmower rev extremely high. Any suggestions as to what my problem may be? It would be much appreciated, thanks.
UPDATE: Ran the mower even with the air filter off of it, and it still revs way too high.

We just got a new lawnmower, and have used it several times and its worked fine. I took it out this morning to use it again, and when I start it white smoke comes out.. I think it’s because I had slightly tipped it on its side, for a few seconds. What are the consequences of that, and what should I do to fix it??
Thanks for your help.. I let it sit for a few minutes and started it up again, and the smoke went away.

It’s a fairly old machine and it’s probably an air filter or something, but I have no idea where it is or how to fix it. Any help, please?

every time i get out to mow after like 30mins it starts to smoke white it smells like burnt oil and then it will die but it will start right back up i don’t know what to do
the mower is a Craftsman Lt3000 and its rough a year old maybe a year and a month 20 Hp single cyclinder

My lawnmower is blowing out white smoke from the muffler looking thing and black liquid is leaking out and it is making knocking noise and has loss of power. I put in 5w 30 oil instead of just sae 30 in. It was working fine the last time i used it but now it is just smoking non stop.
The problem was that i over filled it with oil all i did was drain the oil and put only a little back the power is back and it does not smoke alot any more I think it will go away when it burns off all the oil Thank you guys for help
