What am i to do if i cant get a lawnmower to start? Any suggestions, anyone?

I would suggest that if it doesn’t start to charge the battery.

Don’t use gas that has been setting for more than six months. Don’t use oil that has no cap. If the mower has a primer button, push it six times and then pull at least six times before trying to push again. It should start before six pulls. If it seems like the mower is running rough, take the air filter off (see owner’s manual) and swat it with your hand. Be careful that you don’t inhale it as it will most likely make you cough for a while.

First … prime the engline five times *priming is when you push the bubble=like “button” on the engine*. Try starting it … if it doesn’t work … Check to see if you are out of gas. If you are … travel to your nearest or least expensive gas station and purchase the adequate amount of fuel. Return to your place of residence and refill your mower. After adding gas, prime the engine again five times. If it still doesn’t work ……. read someone elses comment
PS … be sure you pull the starting cord hard … it has to catch!

All the above answers are correct, but you may also want to check the spark plug. Make sure the plug wire is on the spark plug good and also check for corrosion on the spark plug. Replace if need be.

Try what was suggested prior to me they all are solid. Here’s a few tricks that I have found to work for me. First remove the air filter and leave it out. Try to start. NO?
Remove the spark plug and clean it with a wire brush. Gap to 0.030 in. Try to start, No Remove the spark plug and put a little gas in the spark plug hole about 15 ml or a tablespoon. Quickly replace the plug and try to start.
Of course we know that you’ve checked the oil and gas.

If it doesn’t have a primer, use starting fluid. If it has a primer, usually its called for only 3 times… replace the airfilter, make sure the oils fresh and up to the full mark on the dipstick…. and the gas doesn’t smell rancid (you’ll know when you take a sniff of it. If its rancid, drain and replace with fresh, hopefully the carb hasn’t varnished up too bad or hardly at all…. (the old gas can be harmlessly put into your cars gastank when thats full) I replace the spark plugs when they get hard to start…. BUT do check the gap once a year and clean them as well. Use a HD-30 weight above 40 degrees, multi weight such as 5w-30 below 40. OR a synthetic 10w-30 or 5w-30 anytime. Be sure to change the oil regularly (25 hours) and check it often (I do it everytime I go to start it cold)
