Try removing the spark plug if you have a wrench to fit it.  Turn the engine over a few times and keep your face away from the plug hole in case the cylinder has somehow become flooded with gasoline.  If the engine turns freely, then replace the plug and try to restart it.  If not, then you may have a more serious problem. 

Also, you didn't mention if this is a reel-style mower or a conventional vertical-shaft rotary.  Most verticals don't have grease-able bearings in the drive train, but reel-styles do.  If there are grease fittings anywhere, there might be a dry bearing, and that would cause a squeak.&lt;a href="http://www.greatjewelrydesign.com/other-315"&gt; HyperDog&lt;/a&gt;</description>
