    if you mean,,the bolt next to where the spark plug hole,,,that sounds like one of the old type ignition kill tabs,,,it would have had a strip of metal attached to the end of the bolt at one time,,and when you wished to stop the engine,,,you would press the metal strip to the end of the spark plug,,,which would ground the plug and stop the ignition. Thunder

    That bolt is actually for safety. You can attach the ignition wire to that bolt which actually runs to ground so that you don’t get an accidental spark jumping to the body or worse yet; through the wire which could ruin it.

    You can also use it as an emergency kill if the darn thing won’t stop. watty_ofthe_wattykins
